Praise for NI health centre
Minister credits staff and facilities at new health centre
Northern Irish Health Minister Edwin Poots has praised the facilities and staff at the £16.5 million Portadown Health and Care Centre that provides a range of services from dentistry and GP surgeries to rehabilitation, X-ray and a Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
The new centre, which has also been recognised in a number of architectural and design awards, is one of seven new health and care centres opened in the province in recent times.
The other centres are situated in Grove, Carlisle, Holywood Arches, Bradbury and Knockbreda.
Speaking during his visit, the minister said: “I have been extremely impressed by what I have seen at this excellent centre. The wide range of services provided to the local community within a modern, fit for purpose environment makes this facility a real asset for the people of Portadown.”
