Judges praised commitment to the ongoing development of his team and himself

Belfast dentist Philip McLorinan has been named Young Entrepreneur of the Year at a recent business awards ceremony.

Philip, who owns and runs Dunmurry Dental Practice with his wife and practice manager Debbie, received the award at the Lisburn City Business Awards during a gala dinner at Lagan Valley Island Civic Centre. The practice was also a finalist in the Business Growth category at the ceremony, which was held on 19 April.

In their brief the judges said that they were looking for an “outstanding individual who demonstrated exceptional vision and leadership in the establishment and development of an owner-led business”. And in their appraisal of Philip they commented: “Philip impressed us with his commitment to the ongoing development for himself, his team, his business and even the industry. A motivated and determined individual with a strong track record of achieving business goals.”

Philip opened Dunmurry Dental Practice in 2004 as a single surgery practice and has since grown the business into one of the largest in Northern Ireland with six surgeries and a team of 17 staff. They offer a wide range of dental and cosmetic treatments, providing both NHS and private treatment.
