ASM to explore dental controversies

RCSI dental faculty to welcome impressive line-up of speakers

‘Controversies in Dentistry’ will be the theme at the Faculty of Dentistry Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’s 2014 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM).

To be held on 30 and 31 October, the ASM will include lectures on caries management, orthodontics, the role of fluoride, drug therapeutics and the dental practitioner, adhesion, radiology, endodontics and oral surgery.

Confirmed overseas speakers include Amr Morsi (New York), StJohn Crean (Preston), Avi Bernerjee (London), Mark Hector (Dundee), Chris Deery (Sheffield) and Ross Hobson (Newcastle). The event will also feature accomplished national speakers such as Hal Duncan (endodontics), Garry Fleming (adhesion) and Brian Bourke (orthodontics).

On the Friday afternoon the Leo Sheridan Lecture session, entitled ‘Current controversies in the surgical management of head and neck cancer’ will be delivered by Brian Schmidt (New York) and David Vaughan (Aintree, Liverpool).
